A lake in the Great Rift Valley in central Africa. It is on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. It flows into Lake Albert in the north via the Semliki River and is one of the sources of the White Nile. The surrounding area is a national park. It was explored by H. Stanley in 1889.
