Edward I - Edward
King of England from the House of Plantagenet (reigned 1272-1307). Son of Henry III. When he was the crown prince, he defeated and killed Simon de Montfort and put down a rebellion by the nobles. After ascending to the throne, he reformed the administration and judiciary through various legislation. He conquered Wales and extended his influence to Scotland, and convened a Model Parliament to raise funds for his wars.
