Kazama Jokichi

Japanese: 風間丈吉 - かざまじょうきち

1902-1968 A social activist in the Showa era.
Born on February 25, 1902. Studied at the Communist University of Eastern Workers in Moscow. In 1931, he became chairman of the Communist Party's Central Committee and drafted political theses. He was arrested the following year and converted. After the war, he joined the Worker-Peasant Vanguard Party. He became secretary-general of the World Democratic Institute and engaged in anti-communist activities. He passed away on May 24, 1968, at the age of 66. He was born in Niigata Prefecture. His works include "Memories of Moscow Communist University."

明治35年2月25日生まれ。モスクワの東洋勤労者共産主義大学にまなぶ。昭和6年共産党中央委員長となり,政治テーゼ草案を起草。翌年検挙され転向。戦後,労農前衛党に参加。世界民主研究所事務局長となり,反共活動をおこなった。昭和43年5月24日死去。66歳。新潟県出身。著作に「モスコー共産大学の思い出」など。
