A town in Esashi County, northern Hokkaido. Facing the Sea of Okhotsk. Prospered during the Meiji Period through gold dust mining. Fishing for salmon, trout, herring, and crabs, and the release of salmon and trout are also carried out. Seafood processing is thriving, and dairy farming is also carried out. 北海道北部，枝幸郡の町。オホーツク海に面する。明治時代砂金の採取で繁栄した。サケ，マス，ニシン，カニを漁獲，サケ，マスなどの放流事業も行う。水産加工が盛んで，酪農も行われる。2006年３月枝幸郡歌登町を編入。1115.93km2。9125人（2010）。
