Chronic inflammation

Macrophages that originate from sources other than blood are cells that belong to the so-called reticuloendothelial system, such as histiocytes in tissues, Kupffer stellate cells in the liver, alveolar macrophages in the lungs, macrophages in lymph nodes and the spleen, and macrophages derived from the pleural and peritoneal epithelium.
[Types of inflammation]
Inflammation can be classified according to its duration into acute inflammation, which disappears within about a month, chronic inflammation, which lasts for several months to several years, and subacute inflammation, which is intermediate between the two. In addition, there are the following histopathological classifications of inflammatory lesions.
