Great Temple of Aten

...The collection mainly consists of discoveries from the new capital, Akhetaten (Amarna), but also includes artifacts excavated from Thebes (Karnak and the tomb of Tutankhamun). As typified by the Great Temple of Aten at Amarna, the architecture of these temples is designed to worship the sun itself, with most of the area without a ceiling compared to traditional temples, and to allow sunlight to reach the inner sanctuary. The royal tombs, unlike previous rock-cut tombs, have corridors and burial chambers arranged on a straight axis so that sunlight can symbolically reach the burial chamber.
