A calendar book from the Qing dynasty in China. There are two versions, "Upper and Lower Volumes" and "Later Volumes." "Upper and Lower Volumes" is a re-edited version of "New Western Calendar" by He Guozong and Mei Gucheng, and was compiled as an imperial project by the Qing emperor Kangxi. It is part of the 100 volumes of "Origin of the Law Calendar" and was published in 1723. It describes the theory of Tycho Brahe and the calendar calculations based on it. The "Shixian calendar" of the Qing dynasty, estimated in "Upper and Lower Volumes," gradually began to show slight differences, and the calendar book "Later Volumes of the Calendar" was compiled in 1742 by the Jesuit priest Koegler (Chinese name Dai Jinxian) and others at the imperial command of the Qing emperor Gaozong. This work incorporated Kepler's theory of elliptical motion for the sun and moon, but did not extend to the planets. The Rekisho Kosei was studied by calendar scholars of the Asada Goryu school during the Edo period, and the latter half in particular was the focus of the Asada school's efforts, becoming the basis for the Kansei calendar.
