Renault National Corporation (English name)

Japanese: ルノー公団 - ルノーこうだん（英語表記）Régie Nationale des Usines Renault

Renault is the largest automobile manufacturer in France and one of the world's leading companies, with 53% of its capital invested in by the government. Its headquarters are in Boulogne-Billancourt (western suburb of Paris). The company was founded in 1898 at its current location by Louis Renault (1877-1944) as Société Renault Frères, and began producing passenger cars. Renault moved to the United States in 1909 and introduced the Taylor System. During World War I, the company expanded its production facilities by producing military supplies such as tanks in addition to producing automobiles.

フランス最大，世界でも有数の自動車メーカーで，資本の53％を政府が出資する企業。本社，ブーローニュ･ビヤンクール(パリ西郊)。　1898年にルノーLouis Renault(1877‐1944)によってルノー兄弟商会Société Renault Frèresとして現在の場所に設立され，乗用車の生産を開始した。ルノーは1909年にアメリカに渡り，テーラー･システムを導入した。第1次大戦中は自動車生産と並行して戦車など軍需品も生産し，生産設備を拡充した。
