One of the official titles in the Ryukyu Islands. It is also called "Aji" or "Anzu". In the past, it was used to refer to powerful clans and chiefs who ruled various regions, but with the establishment of the Ryukyu Kingdom, they were forced to live in Shuri and were made the highest-ranking official. They were mainly appointed by the royal family and were granted ownership of Magiri, a local administrative district.
