...It is distributed in three provinces, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou, and in parts of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and has about 5.5 million speakers. It was traditionally called Lolo. Based on vocabulary and phonological characteristics, it is roughly divided into six dialects: northern, eastern, southern, western, southeastern, and central. In some cases, the dialect name is the name of the tribe, such as Nosu or Sani.
