Ryuyo [town] - Ryuyo

Japanese: 竜洋[町] - りゅうよう

This is a former town in Iwata County, located in the southwest of Shizuoka Prefecture, on the left bank of the Tenryu River estuary. Kakezuka, the town in the center, developed as a port town and a distribution center for timber from the Tenryu River. It is located along National Route 150 and is connected to Hamamatsu City by Kakezuka Bridge and the Enshu Ohashi Toll Road. Greenhouse melons are a specialty of the town, and rice and green onions are also cultivated. There are factories that produce automobiles, musical instruments, etc. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Iwata City along with Fukuda Town, Toyoda Town, and Toyooka Village in Iwata County. ^{23.62 km2} .
