Hematocrit value - Hematocrit value

Hematocrit value - Hematocrit value
Abbreviated as Ht, it is also called packed cell volume (PCV). It is a percentage value that represents the volume ratio of blood cell components to whole blood. Normally, it is within a certain range (generally 45 (40-50)% for men, 40 (35-45)% for women), but in anemia, the hematocrit value decreases due to a decrease in red blood cells. Therefore, the hematocrit value is one measure of the presence or absence and degree of anemia. Conversely, the hematocrit value increases in cases of polycythemia, hemoconcentration, etc.
