A character who appears in the folk song "Aizu Bandai Mountain" from the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. He liked to sleep in, drink alcohol, and take a bath in the morning, and it is said that he squandered all his fortune. There are also theories that he was a lumber wholesaler in the Genroku period, or a samurai of the Aizu domain who died in the Boshin War, but whether he actually existed is unknown.
