Chinese writer and politician in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. Born in Qingtian (Zhejiang Province). Courtesy: Bo Wen. Passed the Jinshi examination in 1333 and served the Yuan dynasty at first, but later joined Zhu Yuanzhang (later Emperor Hongwu) and made a great contribution to the founding of the Ming dynasty. In the early Ming dynasty, many purges were carried out, but he consistently received the Hongwu emperor's trust and was given the title of Chongyi Bo. Later, he had a disagreement with the prime ministers Li Shanchang and Hu Weiyong, and resigned in 71 and returned to his hometown, where he died. It is said that he was poisoned by Hu Weiyong. He was an erudite man with extensive knowledge of astronomy and mathematics, and excelled in poetry and prose, and was said to be second only to Song Lian in prose and Gao Qi in poetry. His works include "Yulizi" and "Spring and Autumn Classics". Together with his poems and prose, they are collected in the Collected Writings of Chengyi Bo Liu Wencheng (20 volumes).

中国，元末明初の文学者，政治家。青田 (浙江省) の人。字，伯温。至順4 (1333) 年進士に及第，初め元に仕えたが，のち朱元璋 (のちの洪武帝) のもとに投じ，明の建国に大きな功績をあげた。明初，多くの粛清が行われたなかで，一貫して洪武帝の厚い信任を受け，誠意伯の号をもらった。のち丞相の李善長，胡惟庸らと合わず，洪武4 (71) 年辞職して故郷に帰り，そこで没した。胡惟庸に毒殺されたともいう。博学で天文，数学などにも詳しく，詩文にすぐれ，文は宋濂 (そうれん) に次ぎ，詩は高啓に次ぐといわれた。著書『郁離子』『春秋明経』など。詩文とともに『誠意伯劉文成公文集』 (20巻) に収める。
