Ryuganpo

Japanese: 竜岩浦 - りゅうがんぽ

A fishing port at the mouth of the Yalu River in the northwest of North Pyongan Province, Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Since Russia occupied and opened the port in 1903 as a base for its southward advance, it developed as a trading port for Sinuiju. Later, the course of the Yalu River shifted, making it impossible for large ships to dock there, and an artificial port was built on nearby Dashija Island, eliminating the port's role as a trading port. Thus, Ryongampo became a gathering place for small fishing boats engaged in the Yellow Sea fishery of corbicula, hairtail, etc., and has become a fisheries base equipped with shipyards and other facilities.

朝鮮民主主義人民共和国，平安北道の北西部，鴨緑江河口にある漁港。1903年，ロシアが南進策の拠点としてここを占拠して開港させて以来，新義州の外港にあたる貿易港として発達した。その後，鴨緑江の河道が移動したため，大型船舶の接岸が不可能となり，近くの多獅子島に人工港が建設されたことによって，貿易港の役割が消滅した。こうして，竜岩浦はイシモチ，タチウオ等の黄海漁業を営む小型漁船の集結地に変わり，造船所等を備えた水産業基地となっている。
