Lyadov (English spelling) Anatoliy Konstantinovich Lyadov

Russian composer. He studied under Rimsky-Korsakov at the St. Petersburg Conservatory in his hometown, and after graduating, he taught theory and composition at his alma mater, nurturing Prokofiev and Myaskovsky. He interacted with the composers of the "Five" and participated in Belyayev's group. He was also active as a conductor. He collected and published Russian folk songs, and left behind orchestral pieces such as "Baba Yaga" (1891?-1904) and "Kikimora" (1909), as well as miniature-style piano pieces based on the fantastic world of Russian folk tales.

ロシアの作曲家。生地のペテルブルグ音楽院でリムスキー・コルサコフに学び、卒業後母校で理論や作曲を教え、プロコフィエフやミャスコフスキーらを育てた。「五人組」の作曲家たちと交わり、ベリャーエフのグループに参加。また指揮者としても活躍した。ロシア民謡を収集、出版し、またロシア民話の幻想的な世界を題材にして『ババ・ヤガ』(1891?~1904)、『キキモラ』(1909)などの管弦楽曲や、細密画風のピアノ小品を残している。
