Izumiyama Iwajiro

…A late Jomon period ruins located on a low tongue-shaped plateau facing a narrow alluvial plain by the Arata River in Nakai, Korekawa, Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, and on the lowlands on both the north and south sides of the plateau. It became famous due to excavations carried out by brothers Iwajiro and Fuijiro Izumiyama from 1920 to 1930. Remains of hearths and graves (human bones) have been discovered on the plateau, and relic-bearing layers have developed in the surrounding area. …
