Eurhythmics - rythmique (English) French

A music education system created by Swiss composer Émile Jacques-Dalcroze (1865-1950). The name comes from the ancient Greek word eurhythmia, meaning "rhythmic harmony." Eurhythmics aims to be a creative human education that does not rely on technique or skill, by responding and acting physically to rhythm and sound, sharpening the senses, harmonizing the mind and body, and cultivating concentration, spontaneity, and expressiveness. Specifically, it follows a three-stage curriculum that progresses from (1) rhythmic movement, (2) solfege, and (3) improvisation. Jacques Dalcroze applied this eurhythmics not only to music but also to dance and theater, establishing a comprehensive arts education that integrates movement, music, and words. Today, eurhythmics has been introduced to countries around the world and is widespread in the fields of education and music therapy, and in Japan it is adopted and studied at the National College of Music and Toho Gakuen.

スイスの作曲家エミール・ジャック・ダルクローズÉmile Jacques-Dalcroze（1865―1950）によって創案された音楽教育体系。古代ギリシア語のeurhythmiaに由来し、「律動的調和」を意味する。リトミックは、リズムや音に対して身体的に反応、行動することによって、諸感覚を鋭敏にし精神と身体を一致調和させ、集中力や自発性、表現性などを培い、技術、技巧によらない創造的な人間教育を目ざす。具体的には、〔1〕リズム運動、〔2〕ソルフェージュ、〔3〕即興演奏へと進む三段階からなる教科課程に沿って行われる。ジャック・ダルクローズはこのリトミックを音楽のみならず舞踊、演劇にも適用し、動きと音楽とことばを一体化させた総合芸術教育を打ち立てた。今日ではリトミックは世界各国に紹介され、教育や音楽療法の分野で普及しており、わが国でも国立(くにたち)音楽大学、桐朋(とうほう)学園などで採用され、研究されている。
