Born August 4, 1884. Younger brother of Nannichi Tsunetaro and Tabe Ryuji. Professor at Toyo University, Hosei University, and Jissen Women's University. A researcher of the British critic Peter, he translated "Renaissance Literature." He climbed mountains all over Japan, including Oku-Chichibu, and left behind many travel writings, such as "A Pilgrimage to the Japanese Alps and Chichibu." He passed away on September 22, 1972.
