?-1469 The fifth emperor of the Aztec Empire in Mexico. Reigned from 1440 to 1469. During his reign, he contributed to the expansion of the empire through military conquest and the development of administrative and social structures. He is also known for having large quantities of food transported from conquered lands during a severe drought from 1450 to 1455, and for instituting the "War of Flowers" to obtain prisoners to be sacrificed to the gods in order to appease their anger.
