Italian actor. Commonly known as Lelio. His father was Antonio Riccoboni, a famous pantaloonist of the time, but he himself excelled in tragedy. With his wife Flaminia, he formed the "Lelio and Flaminia troupe" (1706-15), which performed Italian and French tragedies. In 1715, he was invited to Paris, where he wrote many books in addition to his theatrical activities, and supported new writers by making friends with writers such as Marivaux. He criticized the exaggerated declamation (recitation or recitation) that was mainstream in French tragedy at the time, and advocated a more natural "dialogue technique."

イタリアの俳優。通称レリオ。父親は当時の有名なパンタローネ役者アントニオ･リッコボーニであるが，彼自身は悲劇を得意とした。妻フラミーニアとともに〈レリオとフラミーニア一座〉を結成(1706‐15)，イタリアとフランスの悲劇を上演した。1715年招かれてパリに行き，演劇活動のかたわら多くの著作活動を行い，マリボーなどの文人と交友を結んで新人作家を助成した。当時フランス悲劇の主流だった誇張されたデクラメーション(朗唱･朗読)を批判し，より自然な〈せりふ術〉を唱えた。
