Lace glass

Japanese: lace glass(英語表記)laceglass
Lace glass

Its history dates back to the 10th century, but in 1291, all glassmakers were forced to move to the island of Murano off the coast of Venice, where they were prohibited from leaving the island and given generous protection, which enabled it to fully develop, and it continued to supply glass crafts to the European market until around the 17th century. Products from the 14th to 16th centuries included enameled wine cups and tableware, and flat mirrors made using secret techniques, while in the 17th century, the style of Venetian glass was established with products such as lace glass with white line patterns resembling lace, and table glasses and chandeliers made of brilliantly colored and richly decorated glasswork. Glass workshops on the island of Murano declined slightly from the end of the 18th century to the 19th century, but in the 20th century they started to develop a new genre of art glass again, and to this day, as one of the world's glass centers, the entire island of Murano continues to be an island of glass, centered around prestigious families with hundreds of years of tradition, such as the Barovier family, the Barbini family, the Seguso family, and the Venini family.
