Born in 1515. He served Matsudaira Tadayoshi, the fourth son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and lord of Musashi-Oshi Castle (Saitama Prefecture), as his chief retainer. In 1602, when Tadayoshi was transferred to Kiyosu Castle in Owari (Aichi Prefecture), he became lord of Inuyama Castle. After Tadayoshi's death, he became lord of Sakura Domain in Shimousa (Chiba Prefecture), and in 1616, he became lord of Kasama Domain (30,000 koku) in Hitachi (Ibaraki Prefecture), but the following year he was implicated in a family dispute within his lord's family and was stripped of his title.
