Lee Sun-jang - Lee Sun-jang

A meritorious official who founded the Ming Dynasty in China. Born in Dingyuan (Anhui Province). In 1354, he served as a secretary under Zhu Yuanzhang (the founder of the Ming Dynasty) when he attacked Chuzhou. He was well versed in legal studies and made many suggestions to help Yuanzhang. He made great efforts in managing the base of Nanjing, and worked to establish administrative and financial systems, making a great contribution to laying the foundation for national unification. He became the Left Prime Minister as a national hero and was given the title of Duke of Korea, but in his later years he was involved in the imprisonment of Hu Weiyong and was ordered to commit suicide.

中国、明(みん)朝開国の功臣。定遠(ていえん)（安徽(あんき)省）の人。1354年、朱元璋(しゅげんしょう)（明の太祖）の滁州(ちょしゅう)攻略の際、その幕下に入り書記となった。彼は法家の学に通じ、多くの建策を行って元璋を助けた。根拠地南京(ナンキン)の経営に努力し、行政・財政機構の確立に努め、国家統一の基礎をつくるのに大功があった。国家の元勲として左丞相(さじょうしょう)となり、韓国公に封じられたが、晩年胡惟庸(こいよう)の獄に関係し、自殺を命じられた。
