A town in Itano County in the northeastern part of Tokushima Prefecture. It is surrounded by the old Yoshino River and the Imagire River in the Tokushima Plain, and the old Awaji Kaido runs through the center. A rayon factory was built here in 1935, and since then chemical and spinning factories have been established here, making it one of the industrial centers of the prefecture. Area: 8.74 km2 .
