Rikuyuengi

Fan Fong of Huaiji, Zhejiang Province, who is believed to have lived in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in China, wrote commentaries on the Six Instructions in simple colloquial language in an attempt to popularize them further. It was considered an excellent book for moral instruction for the masses, and was brought to Japan during the Edo period, where it was reprinted and widely circulated. Because it was written in colloquial language, it was deciphered by Ogyu Sorai, who was familiar with it, and it remains a famous work in the history of research into colloquial Chinese in Japan.

中国、明(みん)末清(しん)初期の人と推定される浙江(せっこう)省会稽(かいけい)の范鋐(はんこう)が、六諭のいっそうの普及を図って、平易な口語を用いて「六諭」に解説を施したもの。民衆の道徳教戒(きょうかい)の書としてかっこうのものとみなされて、日本にも江戸期に流入し、翻刻されて一般に流布した。口語で書かれているため、それに通じていた荻生徂徠(おぎゅうそらい)の解読を経るなどの経緯により、わが国の中国口語研究史上にも名をとどめている。
