〘Noun〙① A lineage of continental immigrants in the pre-Taika period. A title given to those who served under the Ayauji and supervised the Ayabe, who were the tomobe under their control. Many of these people had the surname Sukuri . Originally, this was the name given to skilled workers who came from Korea in the early 5th century, but later came to mean immigrants of Chinese descent. →Yamato no Ayauji and Ayabe. ※Shoki (720), March of the 5th year of Sessho Jingu (Atsuta Honin) "The Han clans of the four villages of Kuwahara, Sagi, Takamiya, and Shinobu are the ancestors."② A title similar to a surname . 〘名〙① 大化前代、大陸系渡来人の一系統。漢氏(あやうじ)の部下となり、支配下の品部(ともべ)である漢部(あやべ)を監督した者の称。その姓(かばね)は村主(すくり)が多い。元来は五世紀初頭に朝鮮から来た技術民がこう呼ばれたが、のち中国系と称する渡来人を意味するようになった。→東漢氏(やまとのあやうじ)・漢部(あやべ)。※書紀(720)神功摂政五年三月(熱田本訓)「今の桑原、佐糜、高宮、忍海、凡て四の邑の漢氏(アヤヒト)等が始祖なり」② 姓(かばね)に準ずる呼称。中国系の渡来人の系統であることを意味する。※書紀(720)推古一六年九月(岩崎本室町時代訓)「唐国に遣(つかは)す学生(ふむやわらは)(やまとの)(あやの)(あたい)福因(ふくいん)〈略〉高向(たかむこの)漢人(あやひと)玄理(けんり)、新(いまきの)漢人(アヤヒト)大国」
