[Birth] 25 years old (1365) [Died] 9th year of Shoto (1444) Chinese Ming Dynasty politician. Born in Taihe (Jiangxi Province). His given name was Yu, his literary names were Shiqi and Qiaozhong, and his pen name was Dongli Sensei. His posthumous name was Wenzhen. In 1399 (the first year of the Jianwen era), he entered the Hanlin Academy and worked on editing the Annals of Emperor Taizu. When the cabinet system was established with the accession of Emperor Yongle to the throne, he joined the cabinet and participated in government affairs. He was also appointed as the supervisor of the eastern palace to guide the crown prince. He subsequently served in four dynasties: Yongle, Hongxi, Xuande, and Zhengtong. During this time, he served as Zuochunfang Grand Scholar, Left Assistant Minister of Rites and Huagaidian Grand Scholar, Minister of War, and other positions before progressing to Junior Master. Together with Yang Rong and Yang Pu, he was known as one of the Three Yangs, and established the power of the cabinet.
