Prince of ancient Russia. Son of Grand Prince Vladimir Monomakh of Kiev, he became Prince of Rostov-Suzdal in 1125. He built the foundations of the Rostov-Suzdal principality by establishing Moscow and other projects, and at the same time, as his nickname Dolgoruky (long arm) suggests, he not only sought to control Kiev and Pereyaslavl (now Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky), but also sought to establish influence in Novgorod and other cities. In 1155, he succeeded in taking control of Kiev again, but was poisoned in 1157.

古代ロシアの公。キエフ大公ウラジーミル･モノマフの息子で，1125年ロストフ･スーズダリ公となった。モスクワを建設するなどロストフ･スーズダリ公国の基礎を築き，その強化を図ると同時に，その異名〈ドルゴルーキー(長い手)〉にうかがえるように，キエフ，ペレヤスラブリ(現，ペレヤスラフ･フメリニツキー)の領有を目指すだけでなく，ノブゴロドをはじめとする諸都市での影響力の確立も図った。1155年再度キエフ領有に成功したが，57年毒殺された。
