One of the theaters for female dance and play in Edo. It later became the waiting tower of the Ichimuraza Theater. Its origins are unclear, but according to historical records such as the "Kiri Family Koraifu," it is believed to have originated as a female dance tayu that arose from dance tayu in the Izu and Sagami regions. According to the "Gekijo Nenpyo" and other sources, in 1630 (Kan'ei 7), Kiriokura performed female dance at Nakahashi, and in 1661 (Kanbun 1), Kiricho Kiri performed female plays at Kobikicho. A reliable source is the entry for May 6, 1693 (Genroku 6) in the "Matsudaira Yamatonokami Nikki," in which the names of Kiriokura and Kiriotome appear in the record of a female dance performance in Shirakawa.
