Yunotsu [town] - Yunotsu

Japanese: 温泉津[町] - ゆのつ

A former town in Nima District, central Shimane Prefecture. Yunotsu, the town's center, is a hot spring town along the Sanin Main Line. It was once an important port on the sea route to Korea and a port for shipping silver from the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. Silica sand mining and refining are thriving here. The hot springs include gypsum-containing saline springs, with temperatures of 46-49°C. There is Fukumitsu Beach. In October 2005, it was incorporated into Nima Town, Nima District, and Oda City. 71.85 ^km2 . Population: 4,027 (2003).

島根県中部，邇摩(にま)郡の旧町。中心の温泉津は山陰本線に沿う温泉町で，かつては対朝鮮航路の要港，石見銀山の銀積出港。ケイ砂の採掘と精製が盛ん。温泉は含セッコウ食塩泉など，46〜49℃。福光海水浴場がある。2005年10月邇摩郡仁摩町と大田市へ編入。71.85km²。4027人（2003）。
