Mizumaki [town] - Mizumaki
A town in Onga County in northern Fukuoka Prefecture. Occupying the right bank of the downstream Onga River, this old rice paddy farming village developed into a coal mining town in the mid-Meiji period, and the Kagoshima Main Line runs through it. The Nittan Takamatsu Mine was a major mine in the Chikuho coalfields, but closed in 1971. In recent years, many people commute to the Kitakyushu industrial area. 11.01 km2 . Population: 30,021 (2010).

福岡県北部，遠賀(おんが)郡の町。遠賀川下流右岸を占め，古くからの水田農村が明治中期から炭鉱町として発達，鹿児島本線が通じる。日炭高松鉱は筑豊炭田の有力鉱であったが，1971年閉山。近年は北九州工業地帯への通勤者が多い。11.01km2。３万21人（2010）。
