The largest company in milk and dairy products. In 1925, the Hokkaido Dairy Sales Association (Industrial Association) was established as a processing and sales organization for Hokkaido dairy farmers, and butter production began. In 1926, the company adopted the brand name "Snow Brand," and cheese production began in 1933 and margarine in 1939. In 1941, the company became Hokkaido Kono Kosha (later a limited company and then a joint stock company), and in 1947, Hokkaido Dairy Cooperative Co., Ltd. In 1950, the company was split into Snow Brand Milk Products and Hokkaido Butter due to the Law Concerning the Elimination of Concentration. In 1958, the company merged with Clover Dairy. The company also develops frozen foods, medicines, and nutritional supplements. With an overwhelming share of the market for butter and cheese, the company was the leader in the dairy industry, but in the summer of 2000, a mass food poisoning incident occurred due to contaminated milk shipped from the Osaka plant. In 2002, a beef fraud scandal at a subsidiary (Snow Brand Foods) was discovered, and the group's business was significantly scaled back and rebuilt by specializing in dairy products. Head office: Tokyo and Sapporo. Factories: Hokkaido, Yokohama, Atsugi, and others. In 2009, Snow Brand Megmilk was established as a joint holding company with Japan Milk Community, and in 2011 Snow Brand Megmilk absorbed Snow Brand Milk Products and Japan Milk Community.

牛乳，乳製品の最大手企業。1925年北海道酪農民の加工販売組織として北海道製酪販売組合（産業組合）を設立，バターの製造開始。1926年商標を〈雪印〉とし，1933年チーズを，1939年マーガリンを製造開始。1941年北海道興農公社（有限会社のち株式会社），1947年北海道酪農協同（株）と変遷。1950年集中排除法により雪印乳業・北海道バターに分割して設立。1958年クローバー乳業と合併。冷凍食品・医薬品，栄養剤の開発も行う。バターやチーズで圧倒的なシェアをもち，乳業界のトップであったが，2000年夏，大阪工場から出荷された汚染牛乳による集団食中毒事件が発生。また，2002年子会社（雪印食品）の牛肉偽装事件が発覚，グループの事業を大幅に縮小し，乳製品に特化して再建。本社東京・札幌。工場北海道，横浜，厚木ほか。2009年日本ミルクコミュニティと共同持株会社雪印メグミルクを設立，2011年雪印メグミルクが雪印乳業と日本ミルクコミュニティを吸収。
