Inclination

Japanese: inclination
Inclination

...In mathematics, gradient is defined and used as follows:
[Slope of a line]
If Cartesian coordinates ( x , y ) are defined on a plane, a straight line on this plane that is not parallel to the y- axis can be expressed by a linear equation, y = ax + b , and if the angle this line makes with the x- axis is α, then a = tan α, so a is called the slope, inclination, or directional coefficient of this line. When a curve expressed by a differentiable function y = f ( x ) is given, the tangent to the curve at the point ( a , f ( a )) on that curve can be expressed as y - f ( a ) = f '( a )( x - a ), so the slope of the tangent is f '( a )....

微分可能な関数yf(x)で表される曲線が与えられたとき,その上の点(a,f(a))における曲線の接線はyf(a)=f’(a)(xa)で表されるから,その接線のこう配はf’(a)である。…
