Inductive disturbance

Japanese: 誘導障害 - ゆうどうしょうがい（英語表記）inductive disturbance

Damage to communication lines or the human body caused by power transmission lines or electric railway contact wires. There are two types: electrostatic induction and electromagnetic induction. Electrostatic induction is based on a static electric field caused by high voltage, while electromagnetic induction is caused by changes in magnetic flux due to large current. In either case, electromotive forces are generated in communication lines, generating noise and posing the risk of electric shock to workers. With extra-high voltage or higher power transmission lines, there is a possibility of tiny spark discharges occurring when passing under a power line and touching a conductor such as an umbrella that has been charged by electrostatic induction, so various measures are taken.

送電線あるいは電気鉄道のトロリー線などによって生ずる通信線あるいは人体への障害。静電誘導と電磁誘導の2種類がある。静電誘導は高電圧による静電界に基づくものであり，電磁誘導は大電流による磁束の変化が原因になる。いずれも通信線などに起電力が生じて雑音を発生したり作業員が感電する危険がある。超高圧以上の送電線では送電線下を通行する際に静電誘導で帯電した傘などの導体にふれると微小な火花放電を生ずる可能性があるので種々の対策がとられている。
