While studying at the Western Painting Department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, he exhibited his works at the Teiten Exhibition, Kokugakai Exhibition, and other exhibitions, graduating in 1930 (Showa 5). In the same year, he traveled to France, traveled around various places, and returned to Japan in 1958, becoming a member of the Kokugakai. The following year, he formed the Shinjidai Yogaten Exhibition with his comrades, and participated in the founding of the Jiyu Bijutsuka Association, and after World War II, the Modern Art Association.
