Located in central Kochi Prefecture, on the west coast of the mouth of Urado Bay. Former village name. Incorporated into Kochi City in 1942. The name Urado appears in the ancient Tosa Nikki, and during the Sengoku period, Urado Castle was built, forming a castle town and a base for the navy. 高知県中部,浦戸湾口の西岸に位置する地域。旧村名。 1942年高知市に編入。浦戸の地名は古く『土佐日記』にみえ,戦国時代には浦戸城が築城され,城下町を形成,水軍の拠点となった。東にある桂浜の入口にあたる。
