Fistulariidae

…is a general term for marine fishes of the Fistulariidae family in the order Syngnathidae. In Japan, two species are known: the red clubfish Fistularia petimba (illustration) and the blue clubfish F. villosa . Both have extremely elongated rod-like bodies, with almost identical dorsal and anal fins positioned opposite each other at the rear, hence the name "arrow shaft."
