…An ancient Etruscan city located about 80 km northwest of Rome, Italy. Its ancient name was Tarch(u)na in Etruscan and Tarquinii in Latin. It was the central city-state of the League of Twelve Etruscan Cities and flourished from the 8th century BC to the 5th century BC.
