Aviso (English spelling)

Japanese: アビソ（英語表記）Aviso

Along with Relation published in Strasbourg (now Strasbourg), it is said to be the oldest weekly newspaper in Germany. Issues from 1609, 1610, 1614, and 1624 still remain. Aviso means communication from afar. It is believed that the Augsburg communications company Philipp Hainhofer collected news at the request of the Duke of Brunswick and printed it in Wolfenbüttel, where the Duke's official printing shop was located, but there are many other theories.

シュトラスブルク(現ストラスブール)発行の《レラツィオンRelation》と並んで，ドイツでもっとも古い週刊新聞とされる。1609年，10年，14年，24年刊行のものが現存。アビソとは遠方からの通信を意味する。ブラウンシュワイク侯の注文で，アウクスブルクの通信業者ハインホーファーPhilipp Hainhoferがニュースを収集，侯の御用印刷所のあったウォルフェンビュッテルで印刷されたと推定されるが，異説も多い。
