Aisu Ikou - Aisu Ikou

Japanese: 愛洲移香 - あいすいこう
Aisu Ikou - Aisu Ikou

A swordsman from the late Muromachi period. The founder of the Aisu Kage school. Commonly known as Tarozaemonnojo Hisatada. Also known as Iko and Ikousai. The Aisu clan originated from the Kumano Navy, and moved to Ise (Mie Prefecture) during the Northern and Southern Court period, and is said to have established its influence around Goshogaura in Watarai County. From an early age, he loved sword and spear techniques, and as an adult, he traveled around the country. In 1487 (Chokyo 1), at the age of 36, he spent 37 days in seclusion in the cave of Udo Gongen in Hyuga (Miyazaki Prefecture), where he mastered the secrets of sword techniques and started the Kage school. His eldest son, Koshichiro Munemichi (Ishu, Genkosai), descended upon the Kanto region at the beginning of the Eiroku era (around 1560) and passed on the secrets of the Kage-ryu style to Kamiizumi Ise no Kami Hidetsuna and Satake Hitachi no Suke Yoshishige, among others.
