Born on April 28, 1836. The eldest son of Motoori Uchito. Professor of Japanese studies in the Kii Wakayama Domain. After the Meiji Restoration, he became a shrine official at Kanda Shrine in Tokyo, and also lectured on classics as a lecturer at the University of Tokyo and a professor at the Higher Normal School and Women's Higher Normal School. In 1896, he was a lecturer at the Crown Prince's court. He passed away on February 15, 1913, at the age of 80. He was from Kii Wakayama. His pen name was Akinoya.
