《Ancient History》 - Ancient History

…While working as a government official and teacher, he was one of the central figures in the modern literary movement with a strong cosmopolitan and Western-oriented tendency, which was based on the magazine “Selveti Funun.” He was also interested in ideological and social issues, and is famous for his poem “Ancient History,” which satirizes the tyranny of the Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II. His works include the poetry collections “The Broken Violin” and “The Notes of Haluk.”
