Japanese: 免疫応答遺伝子 - めんえきおうとういでんし（英語表記）immune response gene

A gene that controls the immune response to a specific antigen as a simple eugenic trait. Abbreviated as Ir gene. Its existence has been proven not only in experimental animals such as mice but also in humans. The immune response genes that have been most thoroughly studied are those linked to the major histocompatibility complex system, and their gene products are class II antigens of major histocompatibility complexes. Individual differences in immune responses are brought about by differences in the types of antigen fragments (peptides) that can bind to and be presented to T cells (T lymphocytes) based on individual differences in class II antigens.

特定の抗原に対して免疫応答を示すことを単純優生形質として支配する遺伝子。Ir遺伝子と略称。マウスなどの実験動物のみならずヒトにもその存在が証明されている。免疫応答遺伝子は主要組織適合抗原系と連鎖したものが最も詳しく研究されており，その遺伝子産物は主要組織適合抗原のクラスII抗原である。免疫応答の個体差は，クラスII抗原の個体差にもとづき，これに結合してT細胞(Tリンパ球)に提示可能な抗原断片(ペプチド)の種類に差が生じることによってもたらされる。
