Brand name - Meigara

A name given to a product to indicate its specific quality, and is commonly accepted by convention. It is also called a brand. It is often used in combination with the place of production, grade, standard, trademark, or trade name. Using a brand makes transactions smoother. Transactions that are conducted by simply specifying the brand are called brand transactions. In the case of manufactured goods, there are brands that are commonly used among traders (for example, plain woven rayon), and specific brands that manufacturers use for their own products.

For stocks, the name of the issuing company is generally used, and when new and old stocks are on the market, they are treated as separate issues. When the issue dates are different, like bonds, they are called multiple issues. In addition, stocks can also be classified as first section issues (stocks listed on the first section) and second section issues.

商品の特定の品質を表示するためにつけられた、慣習上広く認められている名称。ブランドbrandともいう。生産地名、等級、規格、商標、商号などを組み合わせて用いられることが多い。銘柄を用いることによって取引が円滑になる。銘柄を指示するだけで行われる取引を銘柄売買という。製造品の場合は同業者一般に通じて用いられるもの（たとえば人絹平織）と、生産者が自己の製品につける特定の銘柄とがある。

　株式については一般に発行会社の名称が使われ、新株・旧株が市場に出ている場合、別の銘柄として扱われる。債券のように発行日が異なる場合は多数銘柄となる。なお、一部銘柄（一部上場銘柄）、二部銘柄のように株式を区分した用い方もある。
