Sagara Seibei

Japanese: 相良清兵衛 - さがらせいべえ

1568-1655 Azuchi-Toyotomi: A samurai from the early Edo period.
Born in the 11th year of the Eiroku era. Son of Inudo Yorian. Regent of the Sagara clan of Higo (Kumamoto Prefecture). Wiped out the opposing Fukami clan during the Keicho War. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he defected to the Eastern Army and was praised by the feudal lord Sagara Nagatsune, but in 1634, the next feudal lord, Yorihiro, complained about his tyranny to the shogunate, and he was placed under the custody of the Mutsu Hirosaki domain. Died on July 12, 1654. Age 88. His name was Yorimori.

1568－1655　織豊-江戸時代前期の武士。
永禄(えいろく)11年生まれ。犬童(いんどう)頼安の子。肥後(熊本県)相良氏の執政。対抗勢力の深水(ふかみ)氏一族を慶長の役のさなかに一掃。関ケ原の戦いでは東軍への寝返り策をとり,藩主相良長毎(ながつね)に賞されたが,寛永17年その専横を次の藩主頼寛が幕府にうったえたため陸奥(むつ)弘前(ひろさき)藩預けとなった。明暦元年7月12日死去。88歳。名は頼兄(よりもり)。
