Mutsuzawa [town] - Mutsuzawa
A town in Chosei County in the southeastern part of Chiba Prefecture. It occupies the Mizusawa River basin in the northeastern part of the Boso Hills, and is mostly flat except for some hilly areas. Its main settlement is Kamiichiba. It mainly produces rice, but also dairy farming, floriculture, and shiitake mushrooms. It produces natural gas. The Tendai sect Myorakuji Temple has a seated statue of Dainichi Nyorai (an important cultural property). The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 35.59 km2 . 7,340 people (2010).
