Japanese Industrial Standard

…Abbreviation for Japanese Industrial Standard. Based on the Industrial Standardization Act enacted and put into effect in 1949, it refers to national standards established by the competent ministers, such as the Minister of International Trade and Industry, the Minister of Transport, and the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, after deliberation by the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (abbreviated as JISC).
