Mimata [town] - Mimata
A town in Kitamorokata County in southern Miyazaki Prefecture. The main settlement is in the eastern part of the Miyakonojo Basin, and is on the Nippon Main Line. Most of the area is forest and wilderness, but rice, tea, and tobacco are cultivated on the alluvial fan. Wasabi and watermelon are local specialties. Livestock is also raised. Area: 110.02 km2 . Population: 24,800 (2010).
