...They always live in small groups, perched on the backs of large herbivores such as rhinos and zebras, as well as water buffaloes and cows, and feed mainly on ticks that live on the animals. Two species of the genus Necropsar, Necropsar leguati on Rodrigues Island, and Fregilupus varius on Reunion Island are now extinct. [Hiroyuki Morioka].
